BBL Forever Young & BBL HERO

Do you have freckles, sun spots, rosacea, or age spots that make your skin look less radiant or older? Broadband Light Therapy (BBL) intense-pulsed light treatments can resolve this issue and help your skin age slower at a genetic level.

BBL Hero - BBL Forever Young

Proven in a Stanford University clinical study, aging skin can be rejuvenated to have younger gene expression resulting in younger-looking skin with Broad Band Light, or BBL.

Stop Aging In Its Tracks With BBL Forever Young

At AustinMD, we use the BroadBand Light treatment created by Sciton because it is the most powerful and versatile tool to get people the results they deserve. Forever Young BBL treatments are intense-pulsed light (IPL) procedures that are four times faster at three times the peak power and that deliver twice the cooling than the next-best IPL device on the market.

Forever Young BBL works by delivering bursts of light energy to the skin, providing skin rejuvenation and treating conditions that commonly occur due to sun exposure, broken blood vessels, unwanted hair, and even acne breakouts. It’s a painless procedure that takes very little time to perform and can be a great way to help your skin look young for years to come with regular appointments.

How Does Forever Young BBL Work?

BBL stands for BroadBand Light, and BBL Forever Young delivers infrared and visible light that penetrates the outer layers of skin, stimulating changes at the DNA level and visible changes at the dermis. The Sciton BBL device has multiple interchangeable Smart Filters to adjust the specific wavelength of light that is being used to stimulate your skin cells and can be used for procedures such as an IPL photofacial as well as for larger areas of the body, including the neck, chest, arms, and hands.

Each wavelength is absorbed by different structures of your skin, such as broken blood vessels, age spots, sun-damaged skin, or even to help control active acne. This versatility is part of why we use this device for IPL treatment in Austin. With regular treatments, you can virtually stop the aging process in its tracks, with clinical studies showing many patients looking 11 or more years younger after 10 years of consistent Forever Young treatments.

Results of BBL Treatments

BBL laser treatments can be used to treat rosacea, acne, vascular lesions such as pigmented lesions, broken capillaries (telangiectasia), and reduce unwanted hair. You can also notice improvements in skin firmness, elasticity, and pigmentation. With consistent light therapy treatments and adequate sun protection, your skin can look more clear, smooth, and more youthful.

Am I A Good Candidate for BBL Forever Young?

Nearly anyone with a condition with skin tone concerns can be a good candidate for Sciton BBL treatments. Due to the risk of adverse side effects, some dark skin tones may not be suitable for this procedure, but BBL Hero treats a wide range of skin colors, so we encourage anyone interested in this procedure to come in for a free consultation.

What’s great about Forever Young BBL is that it’s not just a beauty treatment. People can treat any area of the body as well as the face for proven cellular rejuvenation at a molecular level. Forever Young changes the genetic code of treated skin to reverse wrinkling, uneven pigmentation, and sun damage, to give just a few examples.

In addition to these concerns, the Forever Young settings can be modified to accomplish laser hair removal or to help tighten loose skin in areas that commonly experience skin laxity with age, such as the knees and upper chest.

Almost any generally healthy adult is a good candidate for this IPL procedure, so don’t hesitate to call or contact us online today.

BBL Treatment Process

Your specific Forever Young treatment will vary widely based on what concern you’re coming in for as well as your skin tone, but in general, you’ll arrive at our office and be seated in a comfortable position that gives our professionals the best angle for your specific problem area. Then we’ll pass the appropriate wavelength over the treatment area, bathing your skin in high-intensity light. That’s all there is to it. There’s virtually no downtime, although patients may be instructed to avoid direct sun exposure in the treated area for a certain amount of time as part of their post-treatment care guidelines.

Many patients see improvement in just one treatment, depending on their condition. Results will appear gradually over time, as quickly as one month and as long as 9 months after your last treatment.

What to Expect

This is a very tolerable 30-minute treatment similar to a photo facial. The procedure only becomes uncomfortable if we need to use more than two passes over the determined area. The first 2 passes are painless as they address overall texture of skin. The second 2 passes are targeting browns and reds, so you may feel a bit more discomfort similar to a snap of a rubber band and some heat.

After treatment, your skin may be red, but you can apply makeup 3-4 hours after the treatment.

Aesthetic procedures are not covered under insurance, therefore we do not accept insurance. However, we do offer CareCredit, which is a a great financing option for health and wellness purchases not covered by insurance. The AustinMD skin care is a medical-grade product line, which means that we use the appropriate dose of highly stabilized ingredients that last longer, and take longer to degrade. The cosmetic industry is highly unregulated, so we have no idea if what the label says is truly what’s inside the jar of serum or lotion. Medical companies have invested in clinical research and can prove that their products offer results. We stand behind the products we offer as it reflects on us.

Each appointment starts with a very thorough consultation evaluating your medical history, and muscle movement. At AustinMD, we always take into consideration our patient’s wishes and preferences regarding how much facial movement is desired as well as correction of asymmetries, when possible. Everyone will notice, but no one will know. Schedule your appointment today, you will be glad you did!

To determine a client’s treatment, Dr. Roy and his staff will review your entire medical history. You may want to request copies of your medical files to share with him.

Your medical files and treatments are held in the strictest of confidence; all correspondence is handled through our secure patient portal.
