Dr. Kausik Roy

Dr. Roy is a board-certified internal medicine physician who combines integrative medicine with aesthetics. He has been practicing in Cedar Park, TX. for over 10 years.  A member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Institute of Functional Medicine, American Academy of Anti-aging Medicine, and American Academy of Ozone therapy. He is associate faculty at Texas A&M and serves as the medical director of 2 nursing home facilities in Cedar Park.

HISTORY

After suffering a heart attack at the age of 41, Dr. Roy knew he needed to make life changes to prevent further disease and return to optimum health. He started researching health and longevity, and he found functional medicine to be the answer. Rather than treating the effects or symptoms of illness, functional medicine involves finding the root of the problem.  It focuses on preventing health issues through lifestyle modifications; including diet, exercise, sleep, nutrition, stress reduction, weight loss, spirituality, hormone optimization and detoxification. While working in the hospital wards and rounding in the ICU and telemetry units, he realized how many patients were suffering from the effects of chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension and coronary artery disease that could be better managed through an integrative approach. He is eager to work with patients on lifestyle improvements, diet and nutrition to restore others to optimal function, as he did with his own personal health.

When he’s not helping his patients, Dr. Roy enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. To make sure he’s a good example of healthy living for his patients, he is dedicated to staying fit by cycling, hiking, weight training, yoga and mediation.
